ALERT to start trials ‘Down Under’ funded by Australian Government
We’re excited to announce that in partnership with Active Environmental Solutions (Alemir International Pty Ltd) we have been successfully awarded a grant for the running of feasibility trials of our ALERT real-time airborne asbestos warning devices in Australia.
In 2021, the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency (ASEA) made a successful submission to the Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) – RegTech Round, on the challenge of using technology for real-time and accurate asbestos testing. BRII is administered by the Australian Government, through the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
Our grant will be used to run an initial 3-month feasibility study to test our ALERT Portable PRO1000 unit in the uniquely challenging Australian climate. Tests and trials starting in March will ensure the efficacy, efficiency, and robustness of our patented technology in areas of high heat, humidity, and dust. It will also enable trials in distinctly Australian usage scenarios.
There are 5 businesses that have been awarded grants, the most successful projects will be eligible to apply for an additional R&D grant of up to $1 million. We can’t wait to get going and have some really interesting trials lined up.
If you manage asbestos risk for your business, are involved in the management of asbestos for clients, or undertake asbestos removals and have any interest in being part of the trials in Australia or just learning more, please get in touch directly with AES or Alert Technology.
